The Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces
Augustusburg Palace, Brühl

Set in an idyllic garden landscape, Augustusburg Castle (the sumptuous residence of the prince-archbishops of Cologne) and the Falkenlust hunting lodge (a small rural folly) are among the earliest examples of Rococo architecture in 18th-century Germany. They have been listed as a UNESCO cultural World Heritage Site since 1984. They are connected by the spacious gardens and trees of the Schlosspark.

Hours: Tuesday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6pm. Closed in December and January.

Admission: Adults 5 €, Children 3.50 € Family card 12 €. Entrance to the castle park grounds is free.
