Municipal Museum
Erding

The museum houses historical treasures of this area and is itself a cultural monument. Due to its founding in 1856, it is one of the oldest local institutions of its kind. Today the museum has approximately 27,000 exhibits and is divided into four sections. The first section, religious art and popular piety presents religious art, with more than 60 image-quality works of the late Gothic and Baroque periods - including seven sculptures by Christian Jorhan Elder. (1727-1804) - as well as evidence of popular piety, particularly in the grace and pilgrimage sites in the Erdinger country. The second area is of everyday life in Erding from about 1850 to 1950. The Department of Prehistory and Early History displays objects from the Neolithic Age to the early Middle Ages.

Hours: Sundays, 2 - 5pm.
