Oberwesel Travel Tip:
Kulturhaus Oberwesel Museum
Kulturhaus Oberwesel Museum
The Kulturhaus with the Oberwesel Museum is the vibrant cultural centre for the town of Oberwesel and the region. The building presents itself to visitors as a fascinating architectural combination of old and new. The museum is housed in the tastefully restored residence of a former wine-growing estate. It is a showcase for the Upper Middle Rhine Valley Unesco World Heritage site. The museum relates the eventful story of a small town on a great river. Spread over a floor area of more than 400 m², a wide variety of themes are presented in interesting and stimulating ways using modern media technology.
A new building with a modern, multi-purpose auditorium was erected directly adjacent to the museum. Throughout the year it is the scene of concerts, readings, cabaret, film shows, conferences, festivities and childrens’ events.
Hours: April – October: Tuesday – Friday 10am - 5pm. Saturday, Sunday & holidays 2pm - 5pm.
